We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Import Logistics Specialist to manage and coordinate the efficient and timely import of goods from international suppliers. This role is responsible for handling all import documentation, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, working with freight forwarders and customs brokers, and tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery.
Local Logistics :
1.Plan and coordinate local deliveries of bulk liquid chemicals via tankers, ensuring safe and timely dispatch.
2.Ensure proper documentation and compliance with safety, environmental, and transport regulations (e.g., HAZMAT, DOT, ADR, etc.).
3.Communicate with transporters, drivers, and terminals to manage loading/unloading, delays, and emergencies.
4.Monitor fleet performance and manage tanker availability to meet operational demands.
Import Logistics:
1.Coordinate international shipments of chemical products with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and suppliers.
2.Prepare, review, and ensure the accuracy of all import documentation (e.g., MSDS, bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing list, certificates).
3.Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, chemical handling laws, and applicable trade agreements.
4.Track inbound shipments, resolve customs or port clearance issues, and ensure timely deliveries to local terminals or warehouses.
5.Liaise with internal departments (procurement, production, EHS, etc.) to align import schedules with demand forecasts.
1.Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, Business Administration, or a related field.
2.Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain concepts (internships, coursework, or projects related to shipping or transportation are a plus).
3.Willingness to learn import procedures, chemical transportation regulations, and safety standards.
4.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
5.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
6.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
7.A strong sense of responsibility and willingness to learn on the job.
8.Familiarity with basic logistics documentation (e.g., invoice, packing list, bill of lading) is a plus, but not required.
